"In today's fast-changing digital landscape, our primary mission continues to centre on reinforcing the essential back-office infrastructure of the organisations we serve. Artificial intelligence shouldn't be avoided or viewed as a market disruptor; rather, it functions as a powerful multiplier when integrated responsibly into mission-critical software solutions. Because our cloud-based and SaaS platforms are deeply integrated into deeply embedded workflows, we are uniquely positioned to transition users toward advanced automation securely.

We are transforming traditional systems into intelligent, highly efficient engines of record, accelerating public and private sector productivity without risking regulatory assurance or data integrity."

Artificial Intelligence

Artificial Intelligence is changing the way organisations operate, but at ADVT, AI is far from a new technology. Through our Instream business, we have been developing and deploying enterprise AI solutions since 2004, helping organisations automate complex processes, improve decision making and deliver better services.

Today, AI is accelerating at an unprecedented pace. Our philosophy, however, remains exactly the same as it has for more than two decades: apply AI where it delivers genuine business value, ensure people remain at the centre of every important decision, and develop every solution responsibly, securely and with strong governance.

We are not adopting AI because it is fashionable. We are continuing a journey that began over twenty years ago.

Two Decades Delivering Enterprise AI

Long before today's AI revolution, the technology now known as Instream - originally developed by Celaton part of ADVT Group since 2024 was helping some of the world's largest organisations automate complex document processing using Intelligent Document Processing (IDP) and Human-in-the-Loop learning.

Since 2004, inSTREAM has enabled organisations to automate the capture, understanding and processing of business-critical information, learning continuously through human feedback to improve accuracy and efficiency over time.

Today, that same AI heritage supports organisations across both the private and public sectors. Enterprise customers including ASOS, Currys, Kuoni, ManpowerGroup and Sybron, together with public sector organisations using Integra IDP, rely on AI developed within the ADVT Group. Strategic partners such as Capgemini and DHL Supply Chain also have delivered, and continue to deploy inSTREAM to their own enterprise customers globally, demonstrating the maturity, scalability and trust placed in the platform.

More than twenty years of real-world deployment has taught us that successful AI is not measured by impressive demonstrations alone - it is measured by dependable systems that deliver consistent business value every day.

Responsible AI by Design

That is why responsible AI sits at the heart of everything we do.

Our AI strategy is led by a dedicated AI Chief Technology Officer, ensuring that innovation is supported by robust engineering, clear governance and a consistent approach across the ADVT Group.

Human-in-the-Loop (HITL) principles underpin our AI solutions. Rather than replacing human expertise, our systems are designed to augment it—automating repetitive tasks, presenting intelligent recommendations and enabling people to make faster, better-informed decisions while retaining appropriate oversight and accountability.

As AI governance continues to evolve globally, ADVT is committed to aligning with internationally recognised best practice, including the principles of ISO/IEC 42001, the world's first Artificial Intelligence Management System standard. This commitment helps ensure our AI solutions are developed responsibly, transparently and with security, risk management and ethical considerations embedded throughout their lifecycle.

AI Across the ADVT Portfolio

Each ADVT business applies AI in ways that solve the real challenges faced by its customers. While the applications differ, the objective is always the same: automate routine work, improve decision making and help organisations achieve more with less effort.

Integra – AI for Finance and DXP+

Integra is applying AI across both its finance platform and its Digital Experience Platform (DXP+) to help organisations streamline operations and deliver more connected digital services.

Within the finance solution, AI automates routine processes, supports intelligent document handling, enables natural-language access to financial information and provides actionable insights that help finance teams focus on strategic priorities.

Through DXP+, AI powers intelligent tools, connected workflows and digital services that integrate with existing business systems. These capabilities improve employee and citizen experiences, simplify access to information and enable organisations to deliver responsive, data-driven services more efficiently.

inSTREAM – Intelligent Document Processing

For more than twenty years, inSTREAM has demonstrated how AI can transform document-intensive business processes. Using Intelligent Document Processing and Human-in-the-Loop learning, the platform automates the classification, extraction and validation of information from complex business documents, continuously improving accuracy through experience.

Trusted by enterprise organisations around the world and delivered both directly and through strategic partners, inSTREAM continues to provide the AI foundation for document automation solutions across the ADVT Group, including Integra IDP for the public sector.

The strongest evidence for AI is not what it promises—it is what it has already achieved.

Our AI technologies support organisations ranging from global retailers and travel companies to healthcare providers, recruitment businesses and public sector organisations. Through partnerships with organisations such as Capgemini and DHL Supply Chain, our AI capabilities continue to reach enterprise customers across multiple industries and geographies.

This experience of our businesses gives ADVT something that cannot be created overnight: decades of operational knowledge, proven deployment at scale and an understanding of how to introduce AI safely into mission-critical business environments.

AI for Citizen Engagement via the GOSS Digital Platform

ADVT’s Citizen Engagement solution has had AI embedded at its core for more than 15 years. Early capabilities included categorising and classifying information, and suggesting relevant content to users and staff.

Today, our embedded multi-model AI capabilities can be applied across any form, process, case management or bespoke workflow. They can work with text, images, audio and video to summarise or clarify information for back-office teams, generate and improve content, assist citizens through their journey, or automate an end-to-end service.

This includes secure integration with back-office systems and systems of record, helping organisations deliver faster, simpler and more effective services.

Smarter Workforce Management

Our three workforce management businesses – HFX, Retain and WFM – have embedded AI into workforce management to help organisations optimise staffing, improve compliance and reduce administrative effort.

Intelligent Shift Optimisation and auto-rostering automatically create schedules that balance operational demand with employee skills, availability and contractual requirements.

An AI-powered Attendance and Pay Rules Engine simplifies the application of complex workforce policies, while a Shift Compliance Monitor continuously validates rosters against organisational and regulatory constraints before issues arise.

We are also developing an AI Manager capable of resolving routine workforce requests, enabling employees to receive rapid responses to leave requests, shift changes and everyday HR queries. And of course, AI for workforce management reporting. Together, these capabilities improve operational efficiency, reduce costs and allow managers to focus on supporting their people rather than administrative processes.

AI for Clinical Intelligence and Quality Improvement

CHKS is applying AI to help healthcare organisations improve both operational efficiency and the quality of patient care. The business is moving forward with AI Clinical Coding to automate the coding of high-volume, lower-complexity patient episodes, enabling clinical coding teams to work more efficiently while maintaining high levels of accuracy through expert clinical oversight. By combining intelligent automation with Human-in-the-Loop validation, healthcare organisations can improve coding quality, accelerate reimbursement, reduce reliance on scarce specialist resources and allow experienced clinical coders to focus on more complex cases.

Looking ahead, CHKS has an exciting project that is exploring how AI can further strengthen healthcare accreditation and continuous quality improvement.
